My grandfather is NOT the father! Now what?

at some point where he wanted to pursue anything or not about his history he still should know. so many things could have went wrong from him not knowing. there might be a fallout, some silent treatment for a while or u could lose part of ur family. but i dont understand why she would say something if it wasnt intended to eventually be known
