Anyone notice how the popularity of shoes went from Converse to Vans?

No, at my school its still Converse. I don't know why it changed but I'm not a big fan of either of the either, I think they are the ugliest shoes ever so I buy athletic sneakers for gym and I dress up a lot so I have 1 pair of clogs and 1 pair of boots, I don't have a million shoes like all the other girls do...except for flip flops :). But to answer your question I think its just because its a new thing everybody has to get it so they stay "in style" and Converse has gone out.
