Is there a difference between "Wet Wood" and "Green Wood"?

Green wood does take a very long time to dry, as basically it still has some life. Wood that has been soaked will also take a while. If you put even damp wood on your fire it creates a lot more soot and your chimney will have to be cleaned more often. Best bet is to keep logs inside so that they do not get wet.
