Powers of the president under bush and Chaney have increased to the level of dictatorship?

In a dictatorship, there are no elections. However, yes, I do believe the executive branch has managed to usurp too much power, and has exerted too much influence on the judicial branch. The malfeasance of the current crop of Republicans is so evident that I feel fairly confident the Democrats will control both the executive and legislative branches of government after the next election, and they will certainly take advantage of whatever situation exists.
